Hot Rolling / Hot Forging:

  • Process: The raw alloy steel is heated above its recrystallization temperature and rolled or forged into desired bar shapes.
  • Application: Commonly used for manufacturing round bars, black round bars, and flat bars.
  • Benefit: Enhances mechanical properties and grain structure while allowing flexibility in producing various sizes.

Heat Treatment (Quenching & Tempering):

  • Process: Bars are heated and rapidly cooled (quenched), then reheated to a specific temperature (tempering) to balance hardness and toughness.
  • Application: Applied to 4140 / EN19 / 42CrMo4 bars to improve tensile strength, impact resistance, and wear properties.
  • Benefit: Ensures consistent performance for demanding applications in automotive, oil & gas, and heavy machinery.

Cold Drawing / Precision Straightening:

  • Process: Hot rolled or forged bars are drawn through a die to achieve tighter dimensional tolerances and surface finish.
  • Application: Ideal for producing hex bars, square bars, and hollow bars with accurate dimensions.
  • Benefit: Improves surface quality, straightness, and machinability.

Peeling & Grinding (Bright Bar Finishing) :

  • Process: Surface impurities and scale are removed by peeling and the bars are further ground to achieve bright, smooth finish.
  • Application: Typically used for round bars and precision engineering components.
  • Benefit: Delivers mirror-finished, corrosion-resistant surfaces with close tolerances.

Super Metal Manufacturing Co., based in Mumbai, follows international standards to ensure every 4140 / EN19 / 42CrMo4 bar meets strict mechanical, dimensional, and metallurgical specifications, making them reliable for domestic and export markets.
